hiv/aids awareness carrd

help the fight against hiv/aids worldwide.

a few words from me...

it’s always been really important for me to try and give my assistance in any way i possibly can when it comes to ending the stigma around hiv/aids, helping to fund further research and overall just making the world a better place for those living with these conditions, so today i’m making a carrd in order to compile a variety of sources that will help not only me but as many other people as possible to do all of the things mentioned above, as well as sharing what we already know about the virus and the impact it’s had on the world so far.

linked below you will find a list of charities, fundraisers, petitions and sources of information that support the battle against aids all around the world, and more will continue to be added over time while i myself continue to learn and do what i can to stay involved as well as up to date on developments in treatments, hospitality etc! thank you so much for taking the time to visit this carrd, it means the world to me knowing that other people care about this subject as much as i do, and please don’t hesitate to send any other links to my twitter (@Iapofthegods), the more information the better.

PETITIONS, FUNDRAISERS AND VOLUNTEER WORK

  • petitions: as of right now i’ve not been able to find any trending petitions to do with hiv/aids as all of the ones prior to now have been successful, which is great! do feel free to send me any links via my twitter, which is @Iapofthegods)

  • fundraising and volunteering: currently, due to the covid-19 pandemic, there is very little physical fundraising and volunteering activities taking place, however you are able to donate to all of the charities listed below as well as take part in online fundraising activities (the terrace higgins and blue sky trusts have a lot of fundraising ideas that you can carry out from home listed on their website). speaking of the blue sky trust, an organisation created in the north-east of england to support people living with hiv, i’ve recently been accepted to become a ‘hiv champion’, a role that requires you to carry out a few small tasks in order to raise awareness and money as well as have the possibility to meet someone who is suffering from the virus to understand their experience (due to covid-19 these meetings have been postponed for the foreseeable future). i’ve included a link below to the webpage that will give you more information on this and the ability to sign up.
